What do we intend to do?

The Los Alamos Association aims are as follows:

• Foster and promote cultural and educational activities, mainly among teachers and professors of Cieza, the Ricote Valley and the Region of Murcia.
• Create Meeting Points among students, teachers and professors of Cieza, the Ricote Valley and the Region of Murcia.
• Set up workshops and courses on specific environmental issues-taking advantage of the available space at the Albergue and the nearby rural house-as well as on other issues of interest to the City of Cieza, the Valley of Ricote and the Region of Murcia, especially desertification, education about climate change, domestic violence, drug addiction and immigration.
• Create exhibitions and gatherings for and about the above mentioned issues.
• Collaborate with town halls in the promotion of the activities of the City Council in the areas of education, culture and information and communication technologies.
• Work together with the CPR (Teachers Resource Center) in Cieza on the many cultural and educational activities sponsored by the above mentioned institution, for which the space at La Hoya de los Alamos is especially suitable.
• Set up a wi-fi space for the implementation of the above mentioned aims and for research on wireless connections.
• Provide the La Hoya de los Alamos Group with the necessary technology for continuous work on-line, in addition to four regular face-to-face meetings each year.
• Create a center for specialized research in wi-fi communications, especially LINUX.
• Establish an appropriate web space.
• Establish a server to host local and regional Web sites.
• Enter into agreements for collaboration with cultural and educational institutions and universities.
• Set up a permanent forum for reflection on the different uses of information and communication technologies, especially with regard to the aged and/or persons with disabilities.
• Set up the La Hoya de los Alamos Association.
• Make full use of the rural property La Hoya de los Alamos.
• Establish close collaboration with the universities in the region of Murcia.
• Establish special collaboration with AITERM (The Association of the Telecommunications Engineers of the Region of Murcia).
• Establish relationships with banks and savings banks.
• Any other issues freely agreed on by the General Assembly.
